BLOND
17" x 13"
This
was my first attempt at depicting the human figure. At the time, I had
not discovered the use of solvent to maneuver my spray paint medium
with a brush; I was constrained by masks and the spray delivery
system. I used my ubiquitous water droplets, the protective film cut
into section masks, and the directional spray of various colors to
create the overall texture and a sense of the third dimension in the
various body parts. The gold line was created with scrafitto and
creates a through-line, underscoring, with its various roles, the
interweaving of 3-dimensional space, and, ultimately, the title.
