One
day I got it into my head that I wanted to try to paint a
bird...actually a couple of birds! The first success--there were a
couple of failures--was Flamingo. Chanticleer followed, and has brought many smiles. Why are chickens so funny? Maybe
it's the strutting self-importance on those funny, skinny legs! The
original painting is filled with metallic blues and teals, with gold
speckles that just don't read in this digital image. Another aspect of
the original that isn't apparent is the scale--this is one
big...chicken!
