OBVERSE PAINTINGS

FLAMINGO
36" x 48"

For a short while, I became obsessed with the idea of trying to paint birds.  While researching, I came upon an understanding of the potential for abstraction that the Flamingo offers.  It was a great revelation to discover the flexibility of the long-necked beauty, not to mention the beautiful folding of the wing into the funny, bulby body we are so familiar with in its plastic incarnation as lawn icon.  And then there's the color!  Oil pastels enhance this depiction.
