This
painting was the very first wherein I discovered my collage
possibilities. Why I thought of tissue paper, rather than tracing
paper (which would not have succeeded), I cannot recall. I do remember
that the "printed" feather was an artifact of my visit with Susan Crawford, one of my dear friend artists, who used a feather in several of her monoprints. This exact same feather appears in Winter Holds the Wind Dear...the first painting I did after seeing Susan's work.
