OBVERSE PAINTINGS

by Fred Chuang

MIHALSO II
14" x 11"
(sold)

After seeing the finished painting, Mihalso I, my sister revealed that she had had a different idea when she commissioned a painting for Andy Mihalso's new domicile.  She had been motivated by the recently-finished painting, Palimpsest.  So I did a second painting, using the themes of piano, music, evening, and shelter.  I even started a poem* about the resulting image--that I have yet to finish.

*An open(?)
door beckons
banked passions
(shelter)
within the
House of music.
Frosty night-music
swirling with incense
whispers

memories of moonlight.

Aspirations
scrape the sky
scrape the frost
from the memory
a lost romantic moon
...or is it Dawn?
