My artist buddy, Susan Crawford, and I had gone to see the recovered Klimts this summer, at LACMA. On the drive back, we each saw an organic display in a store window but didn't mention it. When we got back, we both decided on that memory as inspiration for paintings we started that afternoon! Now that's artistic kinship!
The irregular profile is a product of the annealing--what good fortune!
