After
my first year of full-time painting--discovering the basic qualities of
my new technique and creating over 90 works--I took a break to visit my
Texas family and meet my new neice, Kendra, and my favorite nephew,
Adam. Upon my return, I was confronted by a significant mental block.
I had to re-initiate the creative momentum of the previous period.
This painting is the product of my frustration, the subsequent
re-ignition of the fire-within, and the discovery of the value of
emotion to my work.
